About the Neighbourhood

We are sure, that you know a lot about Prague, capital city of the Czech republic. Do you also know the history of Smichov, part of Prague, where our apartment house is?

Smichov was first mentioned in 13th century in the context of coronation king Wenceslas II. Probably some where near by Royal Prague City Apartments® was bulit a wooden palace where was a feast for this occasion. During the Middle Ages, majority of this territory were gardens, vineyards and hop-gardens which were a property of the Church.

The end of 16th century and then especially during residency of king Rudolf II., prague townsfolk and aristocracy started to build small building in their gardens as summer residencies which gave to this part of Prague its own status.

From 18th century, Smichov has become an industrial centre of Prague and many factories were built here.

During 19th century, people started to build houses for factory workers. This trend continues even during 20th century and that is the time when our Apartment house was bulit as well. The house was built very ingeniously. As a proof, you can go look at the outside of the house, decorative ceiling inside the apartments and original door which you can see as a front door to hall at ground floor.
